Frequently Asked Questions
Purchase
Why won't you send download instructions to my hotmail / yahoo / gmail / etc. e-mail account?
An overwhelming percentage of our fraudulent orders originate from an anonymous e-mail address. Here is how the fraud works. The thief
steals your
credit card information and they create a real-sounding, yet anonymous e-mail address (your_name_here@hotmail.com for example). Then the thief
places an order with your
information and their
e-mail address. We
process your
credit card and send the download instructions and serial number to the thief
.
In a month you
get your credit card bill with the fraudulent charge(s) and call your bank. Your bank takes the money back from us
and the thief
keeps the software (occasionally posts the serial number information online). If you only have an anonymous e-mail address you should pay for shipping and handling.
Image Display
Captured images within Capture Professional seem oddly sized and/or jagged.
Capture Professional v6 is attempting to fit the image into the available window size for better viewing. You can set the zoom manually by using your mouse wheel in the image area, adjusting the zoom on the View toolbar or selecting a standard zoom from the View menu. You can turn off the best fit option by unchecking the Best fit image windows cheek box on the General page of the Options dialog.
Upgrading from a Previous Version
The hotkeys do not install.
To make Capture Professional v6 more accessible to first time users, hotkeys have been changed so that there is one hotkey to activate the current screen capture operation. This reduces the keystrokes that a new user has to remember. Power users and users familiar with the previous versions will want to turn on individual hotkeys.
- Select the Configure Hotkeys menu item from the Capture menu or press the topmost button on the Capture Options pane.
- Check the Enable screen capture operation specific hotkeys check box.
- Configure the capture operation hotkeys that appear below the check box.
- Press the OK button.
The touchup pen is gone.
This is now handled using effect media. Click for more details on editing using effect media.
Internet Access
Why does Capture Professional access the Internet?
It is checking to see if there is a more recent version. It is trying to download a very small file from our web site that contains the current version number. If the version number in the file is greater than the version number in your software, Capture Professional will notify you about the availability of an upgrade. You can disable this feature by unchecking the Periodically check Internet for Updates check box on the General page of the Options dialog.
