Game Captures
Capture Professional v6 screen captures images from games as well as Media Player applications using its DirectX or Desktop screen capture operations.
Instructions
These are the most basic instructions for taking game screenshots using Capture Professional v6.
- On the Capture Options pane, set the capture operation to DIRECTX or Desktop. Make a note of the hotkey set to capture the current screen capture operation.
- On the Capture Output tab, make sure the output to is set to IMAGE
- On the After Capture tab, make sure the Capture Professional pops up... check box is not checked.
- Run your game.
- Use the hotkey sequence to capture the game screen. You should hear a camera sound when the image is captured.
- Repeat as needed. Capture Professional can capture multiple images without forcing you to save any of them. That way you can pick the best image(s) and save them later.
Tip
You may want to configure the game's keys not to use any of the keys that make up the hotkey. For example, if the hotkey is CONTROL + SHIFT + C, then you may want to make sure that the control, shift and 'C' keys don't make you jump, shoot or do anything to alter the screen shot.
Example: Half-Life 2

Example: Lego Star Wars II

This is what happens when you acheive 100% - collecting all of the gold bricks, red bricks, story mode jedi status, freeplay mode jedi status, all of the minikits, finshing the Lego City secret level and buying all the characters, hints and extras from the store! Your browser may initially scale this image if your screen resolution is not high enough. The large image was saved using more JPEG compression which may introduce some JPEG artifacts.
