Updates are Free

An update is when the portion of the version number before the decimal place does not change (6.00 -> 6.01). Updates are free to those users who have purchased or upgraded to Capture Professional v6. Registered users of Capture Professional v6 will receive e-mails containing update information and login instructions according to their preferences. You must make certain that you have configured any SPAM filters to accept emails from creativesoftworx.com.

Instructions

1. Click on the DOWNLOAD link.
2. Enter the user name and password that you received in the update e-mail.
3. Save the cp6setup.exe file to an easily recallable location on your computer.
4. If you like, please give us some feedback on our feedback page while you wait for the download to complete. Items below in red were requested by a user.
5. After the download completes, run the cp6setup.exe file. If the file does not run, then you most likely did not download the entire file.

Added a Scale Color effect.

Fixed a video capture crash caused when using compression during the capture when the first frame captured had one or more continuous black lines.
6.04 Added Large Window capture feature. This feature can enlarge a window to be larger than the screen and capture it. This is a useful alternative to the sometimes problematic autoscroll feature. This new feature does not work on Windows 2000.
Added a white balance adjustment effect.
The filled shape drawing tool now correctly applies the shadow parameters, if set.
The Windows XP control style has been restored.
A problem changing colors when using simple media selection has been fixed.
A problem printing immediately after changing printers (and not visiting the setup dialog) has been fixed.

6.03 Reworked video capture so that it will allow more video to be captured. The old limit of 2GB of uncompressed video is gone. The new limit is based upon free disk space. An option was added to the Video Capture Options dialog to leave a certain amount of free disk space on the drive containing the capture files.
Added an option to the video Save dialog. This option configures what occurs when video cannot fit into one AVI file.
Added an oil painting effect.

Changed the configure Configure Hotkeys dialog to allow the use of the Print Screen key to be disabled.
Fixed a problem editing images.
Fixed a problem capturing an infinite number of images.
Fixed a problem where the timer sound may continue after capture is stopped.
6.02 Added support for Windows XP fast user switching.
Changed the installer to optionally configure shortcuts for all users of the computer.
Added the ability to switch to a simple media selection mode that may make simple editing easier. Complex or simple selection is chosen using two buttons on the upper left of the media pane.
Added support for WACOM and compatible graphics tablets. If you have a compatible graphics tablet, Capture Professional will use the stylus as the left mouse button and the eraser as the right mouse button. Capture Professional will translate the area of the tablet to the image area of active image window. A Tablet page will also appear on the Options dialog (again, if you have a compatible tablet). Future versions of the software may account for tilt and pressure.
Added a Strength parameter to the Blur effect.
Changed the operation of the freehand drawing tool. The right mouse button can now be used to draw solid lines with the background media.
Added shadow parameters to multiple drawing tools as well as shadow media selection to the media bar. The default shadow media is black at 50% which casts a decent shadow. This is not a true drop shadow.
Corrected the text of an error message that appears during capture if the video capture directory no longer exists.
6.01g Fixed a problem loading in some longer videos after capture.
All fonts used by the Text, Hollow, Filled and Solid tools can now be chosen (and used) in the font combo box.

6.01f The DirectX screen capture operation can now capture multiple images.
6.01e Enhanced clipboard capture to ignore graphics already on the clipboard when the feature is activated and images copied by Capture Professional.
The Configure Capture Type button on the Capture Output pane's name now changes depending upon the selected capture type.
Fixed a problem saving AVI files with non-whole frame rates (example: 29.97).
Fixed a problem using CTRL+TAB, CTRL+SHIFT+TAB and CONTROL+F4 to navigate and close data windows.
Removed some unused controls from the More Windows dialog.
Fixed a problem where Capture Professional, if maximized, would un-maximize when opening files from Explorer.
6.01d Fixed a serious problem using the Control + Scroll Wheel to change the active media well when the media bar is not visible.
6.01c Enhanced the Capture Output pane so that the automatic save actions update the name of the next file to be saved correctly.

6.01 The Fill drawing tool now can use any media. A change has also been made to fix a problem filling transparent images.
Added a Gray effect. This effect can be also be used as an effect media.
Added an Adjust HSB (Hue, Saturation and Brightness) effect. This effect can also be used as an effect media.
Added new text alignment buttons on the tool palette. These replace the horizontal and vertical alignment combo boxes.
Added a clipboard capture feature. This feature will capture every image copied to the clipboard into an image window. When the Clipboard Capture menu item on the Capture menu is checked.
Added color replace media. This should compensate for the loss of the eraser tool. The best way to use this is to select the Pick Color drawing tool, select the color to replace into the foreground media well and the color to replace it with into the background media well, select the Freehand drawing tool, select the line media well and click on the new Replace tab on the bottom of the media pane.
Foreground and background media are now remembered between sessions.
Minor performance improvement while capturing DirectX surfaces.
Minor performance improvements, particularly when editing 32-bit or 16-bit images.
Flip Horizontal and Flip Vertical operations now work on the selected area.
The red eye reduction can now be used as an effect media.
Altered color replace logic.
Added ability to set toolbar buttons to 16x16, 24x24 or 32x32. Most buttons have separate images at each resolution to make the 16x16 and 32x32 buttons look cleaner. This is configured using the Toolbar Button Size combo box on the Options page of the Customize dialog. The default size is 24x24.

Fixed a problem hitting the enter key in the arrow sweep and arrow size edit boxes.
Fixed a problem with the first image captured not appearing on a small percentage of installations.
