Its Finally Here!

Capture Professional v6 is finally here. Owners of Capture Professional v4 and Capture Professional v5 can upgrade to Capture Professional v6 for roughly 60% of the normal purchase price.

What's Changed?

We've made Capture Professional easier to use for less frequent users and more powerful for power users. Some features have been removed and others have been added.

What's Been Removed?

In the interest of full disclosure, we have removed a few things.

Support for Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows Me Have Been Removed. If you have one of these operating systems, you should not purchase the upgrade. Support for these operating systems will not be re-added.
The Screen Capture Wizard has been removed. This cumbersome feature was used by first time users and no longer fit into the vision. Instead it and all of the capture options set on the wizard, menus, toolbars, Capture Type page, Capture page, Capture Output and Print Screen page have been replaced by four simplified, plain English reading panes on the main window.
The Menu and Icon screen capture operations have been removed. Many Windows applications don't have real menus making Menu screen capture mode obsolete. Icon screen capture mode was redundant to rectangle screen capture mode.

What's Been Added!

The user interface has been overhauled. The new, colorful user interface mimics Office 2003. It is much more colorful and configurable. Capture Output is now much easier to configure on the Capture Output pane. Toolbar buttons are now larger and much more colorful. Extensive tooltips have been added to the new media pane and capture panes.
The previous color pane has been substantially enhanced. Now its called the Media Pane. It has multiple media wells replace the previous foreground and background color wells. Now you can use any drawing tool to paint with colors, faded colors, textures, effects, hatch patterns, gradient fills and effects.
Video capture can be paused. A hotkey was added to pause video capture.
Drawing tools have been enhanced. The number of drawing tools has been reduced, but previous functionality was either combined into another tool or can be achieved using the new Media Pane. The hollow, shape and filled tools now allow text within the shape. Text is now more accurately rotated. The ability to move selected areas has been enhanced. Flood fill now uses a threshold value which makes it much more powerful.
Alpha channel editing has been added. Capture Professional can now edit 32-bit images with alpha layers. Capture Professional's new alpha toolbar buttons were assembled into strips using this new capability.
Additional hardware support has been added. If your mouse wheel, middle mouse button or application keys on your keyboard were feeling lonely, they won't be for long. Now the mouse wheel zooms in on a point in an image. The middle mouse button picks up color for all drawing tools. Application keys found on newer keyboards now call their appropriate function in Capture Professional.
Enhanced grid and zoom options have been added. Many new zoom levels have been added. Simple buttons to toggle the pixel grid has been added to a toolbar. Additionally a tile grid can be displayed to mark off known intervals.
Many othe small enhancements were made.
